About Christine’s Christmas

Christine’s Christmas is an inspiring holiday concert dedicated to the memory of Christine Wilson, a young woman who tragically lost her life in a house fire near The Ohio State University campus in 2003. Christine was thoughtful and giving and had a way of bringing joy to everyone around her. She cared deeply for children and wished to work with them someday, teaching and improving their lives.

Each year, the Columbus community gathers to celebrate Christine’s legacy with one of the best Christmas concerts in central Ohio. The concert features accomplished pianist and singer Mark King, the Wilsons’ neighbor and an associate professor of radiology at OSU, among other local talents.

A Concert with a Cause
While Christine’s Christmas brings joy each year to those who attend the concert, its incredible impact extends well beyond the concert hall. To date, the event has raised more than $850,000 for children’s charities, bringing Christine’s spirit of giving to life.

According to King, the word “concert” does not do justice to the event. “It’s more of a story told through a variety of songs,” he says. “Ultimately, it’s about how one person’s life can affect so many.”

Christine’s Wish
In 2016, Christine’s dream of impacting the lives of children entered into a new phase where the event will benefit Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana, an organization that grants wishes to local children battling life-threatening medical conditions. A granted wish leaves a powerful and lasting impact on kids, families and communities. In fact, three out of four parents say the wish experience marked a turning point in their children’s fight against their illness.

In 2016, Christine’s Christmas raised $100,000 to Grant life-changing wishes for children in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Please join us on December 9,2017 for an evening of music, celebration and joy.
